Canon G9

Well I decided to hold off on getting a new DSLR and picked up a Canon G9. I have been really impressed with the camera so far and still have tons to learn. One big cinch for me was that the camera provided the ability to hack a new firmware. This opens up other features like HD video, time-lapse photography, and many other features.

Let me know what you think of my first shot. This was on the side of the road on the way to Rayne. It was unbelievably foggy!

If you are local and I know you I will accept check, money order, cash, or paypal. If you are stumbling upon this on the internet I will only accept paypal or money order. I would take actual pictures of the devices on request, but I don’t have a camera anymore so some of these images are stock. SOLD Nikkor 35mm 1.8 DX Lens with UV filter in box – $170

Condition: Like New

Nikkor 35mm 1.8 DX Lens

This is a great lens and I really hate to part with it, but I recently purchased another lens that replaced it’s need. Seeing as my camera was STOLEN, it doesn’t make much since for me to keep this lens when I don’t have a camera for it to go on. This lens was fantastic for low light and amazingly sharp. It provided a great depth of field at lower stops and was sharp as hell. More info: http://tinyurl.com/dcokgh

Too Blessed to be Stressed

Sometimes life can throw curve balls and can make it seem like everything is going down the drain, but I am reminded that my family and I really are too blessed to be stressed. We live in a country where we are wealthy, healthy, and don’t live in a constant state of fear for our lives. And the fact that I have a job, a wife, and a baby on the way give even more joy to my life. Business might be crazy but it is my passion. I am one of the lucky people that gets to do a job that I love. So when things get to the level of “SUCK” remind yourself how many blessings God has bestowed upon you. You will then remember you are too blessed to be stressed.

My Wallet is Preaching to Me

You know sometimes God just reminds you about stuff when you least expect it. My wallet was getting obnoxiously fat today (not from money of course) so I decided to do a bit of spring cleaning. I went through and removed unneccesary receipts, took out business cards collected from contacts, and shed old membership cards (blockbuster, etc.). As I was hunting through I stumbled upon a folded piece of paper in the “hidden” fold of my wallet, usually the place where I put mementos or little keepsakes.

As I unfoled this mysterious little slip of paper I realized that it was much more than a just a scripture quote, but God preaching to me through my wallet. Life has been really busy recently. I just got married, we are swamped at work (which is awesome), and I am trying to transition my life from single and living in a suitcase to married and having a home all the while budgeting and planning our future life. What new bills do we have, how much is the insurance going to be with two people, grocery budgets, and everything else that newly married couples are hit with in the first few weeks! All kinds of things swarm through my head during the day and then amidst the chaos God drops this note on me.

From the Sermon on the Mount, Gospel of St. Matthew 6:25-34

“Therefore I bid you put away anxious thoughts about food and drink to keep you alive, and clothes to cover your body. Surely life is more than food, the body more than clothes. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow and reap and store in barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You are worth more than the birds! Is there a man of you who by anxious thought can add a foot to his height? And why be anxious about clothes? Consider how the lilies grow in the fields; they do not work, they do not spin; and yet, I tell you, even Solomon in all his splendor was not attired like one of these. But if that is how God clothes the grass in the field, which is there today, and tomorrow is thrown on the stove, will he not all the more clothe you? How little faith you have! No, do not ask anxiously, “What are we to eat? What are we to drink? What shall we wear?’ All these are things for the heathen to run after, not for you, because your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. Set your mind on God’s kingdom and his justice before everything else, and all the rest will come to you as well. So do not be anxious about tomorrow; tomorrow will look after itself. Each day has troubles enough of its own.”

the Wi-fi Honeymoon

The picture above is from what has become one of our favorite stops in Montreal. It is a Canada coffee shop called “Second Cup”. It is a chain but is a pretty nice little place. Their espresso is really smooth and doesn’t taste bitter at all. We would probably be frequenting our neighborhood Starbucks if they were corporate run stores (no discount from licensed stores). Also they don’t have free wireless access.

We have been under alot of flack from people recently about our internet activity during our honeymoon and we just want to pass on that WE ARE ENJOYING OURSELVES! We have seen alot of Montreal and are heading to Quebec tomorrow. The city is really interesting and we have seen some cool places. The food stops that our travel guide has recommended haven’t disappointed us yet. The food has been awesome! But Anna and I realize that we are internet people. We check email, we surf the net, facebook, and research gobs of info (such as weather, travel spots, and other tidbits of useful Canadian knowledge). We also were so unbelievably anxious to check out some wedding pictures from Jason Cohen, our wedding photographer’s blog that we had to find some suitable internet.

So if you see us on facebook, twitter, gchat, my blog, whatever…we are just getting our daily fix. We can’t wait to get back to the states and pass on the jewels of our trip!

Thanks,
Daniel & Anna Kedinger
